Barney and Fran

We started this blog so we could share the realization of our longtime dream of building our own home. The search for the right site was a long one, but we love our location more and more each day. It's magical! We are loving the building process (and we aren't even getting testy with each other!). It's been exciting and fun! Working with UBuildIt has been a really good experience. Barbara and Mark at UBuiltIt have been fantastic in guiding us and helping make it a very enjoyable adventure!

Trim, baseboard, doors, and drywall are done!!! Yea!!!

Drywall, trim, baseboard, and doors are in! Here I am thinking about how much I am going to love my new closet! I get 2/3 of the closet and Barney gets the other third. I love the stair ballusters (oil-rubbed copper). They're not quite finished (they're double nuckle and the collars have to be raised to the top of the railing yet). I LOVE my doors!!! They're double raised panels, with rustic bead board lines in them.
